Sir Eric James Denton CBE FRS (born Bentley, Yorkshire 30 September 1923 - died St Just, Cornwall 2 January 2007)[1] was a British marine biologist who won the Royal Society's Royal Medal in 1987.[2] He was the Director of the Marine Biological Association Laboratory in Plymouth between 1974 and 1987. He graduated with an Ordinary degree in Physics from Cambridge, before persuing biophysics research at UCL
