ESPN Caribbean is an ESPN channel that broadcasts in the Caribbean (in English).
ESPN offers two English-language networks in the Caribbean including ESPN (offered in HD) and ESPN2. Both were launched in 2007, offering the best in world sport while also providing a Caribbean focus on what viewers in the region most want to see. ESPN’s Caribbean networks air in 32 countries and territories. Key programming includes America’s Cup Yachting, ICC Champions Trophy, ICC World T20 and the ICC Cricket World Cup, Caribbean Premier League T20 and Caribbean Super 50, English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, Golf Majors, NFL, the NBA, MLB and Grand Slam tennis, as well as popular regionalized studio shows like ESPNFC.[1]
Online, ESPN also operates leading websites in Caribbean: ESPN.com, the leading site in the region. The site covers more than 20 different sports with up-to-the-minute sports news, statistics, analysis and real-time scores; extensive video and audio programming; multiple free fantasy games; live event webcasts; live chat with players, ESPN experts and other sports personalities; a wide array of enterprise journalism; and user-generated content. ESPN.com also offers specialized sub-sites that include ESPNFC.com (football), ESPNTenis.com (tennis), Scrum.com (rugby), and ESPNRun.com (running). ESPN Guía (guia.espn.com) is another website provided by ESPN that includes TV listings information, programming highlights and information related to all the ESPN platforms.
ESPN Radio
In Caribbean, ESPN Radio has two stations, ZSR-FM (103.5) in the Bahamas and 89 FM in Jamaica.
In 2011, ESPN reached an agreement with Navetter Broadcasting Company. ESPN Radio is aired on ZSR-FM (103.5) from the Bahamas. A 5000-watts station, ZSR-FM is based in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on the Bahamas’ most populous island of New Providence (270,000 people). The station’s coverage extends to the entire island.[2]
On Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, ESPN Radio launched KLAS ESPN Sports 89 FM in Jamaica. Under the operation of KLAS Sports Radio Ltd. The station’s daily lineup of local sports programming will be enhanced with ESPN Radio’s most appealing content.
KLAS ESPN’s programming feature ESPN Radio’s content from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. weekdays, including daily live and delayed broadcasts of Mike & Mike and the Herd. In addition, the station carries ESPN Radio NFL games. This content complements the station’s local programming and play-by-play offerings that include European and Latin American football.[3]
ESPN Play
ESPN Play is a broadband network for live sports programming. ESPN Play harnesses the quality ESPN has built through its TV networks and delivers online sports programming to fans through a rich, interactive, and easy-to-use experience. ESPN Play broadcasts thousands of live games and events online each year. Some events are exclusive to ESPN Play, while others are broadband-enhanced versions of games from one of ESPN's TV networks and affiliate partner networks.
Sports featured on ESPN Play include Caribbean Regional Super50, ICC Champions Trophy, ICC World T20, English Premier League, MLB, NBA, Tennis, Golf and much more.
ESPN Play also feature local content including a growing video library of ESPN events and original studio news shows.
Live streams of all the ESPN Play Networks are available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription through participating service providers.
