Eamonn Brophy (born 10 March 1996)[1] is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for Hamilton Academical, as a striker. He is renowned for his excellent pace, powerful physique and excellent levels of fitness and rated one of the most promising young strikers in Scotland.
Club career
Brophy turned professional with Hamilton Academical in July 2012.[2] He made his senior debut on 9 April 2013, scoring a goal in the process.[3][4][5]
On 6 March 2014, Brophy signed for Scottish League Two club Queen's Park on loan until the end of the 2013–14 season.[6] He made his debut for the club on 8 March 2014, scoring in a 3–1 defeat against Clyde.[7]
During Season 2014/15 Brophy continued to impress as one of Scotland's top young strikers, performing exceptionally well in the SPFL Development League topping the scoring charts for the country with 28 goals from 30 games, 4 hat-tricks and an inclusion in the SPFL Development League team of the season. He also featured for the Scotland U19 national team.
He joined Scottish Championship outfit Dumbarton on loan in September 2015 for first-team experience for a few months. [8]. By January 2016 he had been recalled by Hamilton Academical, going on to feature for the Hamilton first team for the rest of the season and scoring goals in 2 consecutive matches against Scottish Premiership Champions Celtic and turning in several Man of the Match performances.
His contract expires with Hamilton in May 2016.
International career
Brophy has played for Scotland at under-19 youth level.[9]
