East Timor Justice of Supreme Court

In the Constitution of East Timor spells to the East Timor Justice of Supreme Court , but as long as the transition is called the Court of Appeal of East Timor.[1] It is the highest body in the hierarchy of the courts of the country and ensures the uniform application of the law, with jurisdiction throughout the country and compete also administer justice on matters of legal, constitutional and electoral nature.

Court composition

By Article 125 of the Timor -Leste Costituição the Supreme Court consists of career judges or magistrates of the Public Prosecution or jurists of recognized merit in number established by law, as follows: one elected by the National Parliament and the other designated the Higher Council of the Judiciary . It is required to be Timorese.[2]
