East Turkistan Education and Solidarity Association

The East Turkistan Education and Solidarity Association (ETESA) is a separatist organization in the Xinjiang region of China, established by Uyghur youths.

The group's primary goals are to "educate" Uyghur youth with its doctrine and create an independent Islamic republic. The ETESA claim that China's governing of Xinjiang is an illegal occupation of historical Turkic territory; a claim that is highly disputed. They also claim that the Chinese government enforces discrimnatory policies to keep the Uyghur population "ignorant and uneducated". These beliefs have made the group openly anti-Chinese.[1]
