Economic Club of Canada

The Economic Club of Canada markets itself as a business elite organization that can turn events around quickly, thus making its events more timely and newsworthy.
The Economic Club of Canada members are drawn from the business, industry and finance sectors.
Speeches are typically held in the modern hotels in various cities over the lunch hour.
Tickets to the events can be individually sold or by table to the companies, organizations or private members.
History
The Economic Club of Toronto was established by Mark Adler (politician) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2003.

In 2008, the Club was re-launched as the Economic Club of Canada and has hosted events in Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.[1]
Rhiannon Traill is the President and CEO of the Economic Club of Canada as of February 2016.[2] Natasha Morano is the Vice President of the Economic Club of Canada as of February 2016.[2]
Strategic vision
The Economic Club of Canada has earned a prestigious reputation as THE Podium of Record since 2003. It is uniquely positioned as the only national non-partisan organization capable of staging events across the country, our mission is to bring our members and guests face-to-face with the most important, relevant and influential leaders of our time. The Economic Club of Canada has grown in stature and reputation as a most respected and influential opinion statement platform on business matters in Canada.
Each year, more than 100 key policy makers and business leaders seek out The Economic Club of Canada to make major keynote addresses. In past years, our guests have included such high-profile figures as Professor Roger L. Martin; Senator John McCain; Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister; Victor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine; Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California; the Premiers of Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Manitoba; a number of Federal and Provincial Cabinet Ministers, including the Minister of Finance for a post-Budget address; and many others.
The audience members are drawn from the most senior levels of Canadian business, industry and government. The sessions provide an accessibility to the distinguished speakers and an opportunity to pose questions, direct and unfiltered.
Membership is open to all academicians and practitioners, who share a passion for the great issues of the day, and whose responsibilities require insight and information, experts and exchange.
