Eduard Grüneisen (May 26, 1877 – April 5, 1949) was a German physicist; co-eponym of Mie–Gruneisen equation of state
Grüneisen was born in Giebichenstein.
The Grüneisen Parameter was named after him.
Since 1929 he was together with Max Planck editor of Annalen der Physik.[1]
In 1933 Grüneisen signed the Loyalty Oath of German Professors to Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist State.
Grüneisen died in Marburg.
