Educa is a software company founded in 2009 by Nathan Li in Wellington, New Zealand. Educa provides a web-based eportfolio of a child's growth and development at early childhood centres. Using Educa, educators post learning stories securely online,[1] informing parents and extended family via email/mobile app when a new story is available. Educa was specifically designed for early childhood education centres using recommendations from early childhood teachers and parents. The online portfolio links parents and early childhood teachers as they share in a child's learning journey and provides valuable feedback. Educa tracks a child's progress with national curriculum including Te Whāriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood and Primary Curriculum and Australian Early Childhood Curriculums. Educa's online portfolio allows the extended family (known as whānau in New Zealand) to stay up-to-date with their child's learning.

Educa is the first online portfolio management system endorsed by the Early Childhood Council,[2] the largest representative body of licensed, quality early childhood education centres in New Zealand. Also Educa has gained recognition for its innovative approach to portfolio management from Grow Wellington's Bright Ideas challenge,[3] awarded as the winner in the Education category in 2011.

With more than 700 centres using Educa in New Zealand and Australia, Educa's head office is in Wellington, New Zealand, with an Australian Sales Manager based in Victoria.[4] The New Zealand and Australian national early childhood curriculum (EYLF) are very similar[5] so Educa is equally effective in both early childhood education settings.[6]
