Edward Darmos

Edward Darmos is a British polymath of English and Portuguese descent, noted for his work in the emergent science of synthetic somatology.

He has completed doctoral degrees in Oxford and Paris, and worked for a number of biotechnology and research organizations, including Cavendish Biochemical and Gemini Somatics, where he is executive director of synthetic somatology.[1]

Dr Darmos has described synthetic somatology as, "a process by which we could one day grow adult humans from scratch, having designed everything about them – physical and mental aptitudes, resistance to disease, that sort of thing." [2]

Further research interests include Hawking radiation, cognitive psychology and artificial genome construction and engineering.[3]
