Efrem Smith

Efrem Smith is the President and CEO of World Impact, a Christian missions organization committed to the church-planting movement in the inner city.[1] Besides being the CEO of World impact, Smith is also a motivational speaker and preacher internationally on the subjects of leadership, multi-ethnic issues and development of the Christian community.[2] Smith is considered to be an advocate for urban ministry and reaching out to the marginalized.[3]

Education

Smith graduated from Saint John's University and Luther Theological Seminary.[4]

Career

Smith has held positions with various church and para church organizations, as well as with community foundations.[5] As far as churches, Smith has served as the founding pastor of The Sanctuary Covenant Church[6] and is involved in community foundations as he was formerly the President of the Sanctuary Community Development Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota [1] and the superintendent of the Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.[7] In 1993 Smith was ordained by the National Baptist Convention.[5] Currently, Smith serves as the President and CEO of World Impact as his full-time ministry and is an itinerant speaker for Forge: Kingdom Building Ministries.[8]

Speaking engagements

As a motivational speaker with Kingdom Building Ministries,[8] Smith has been a keynote speaker for Together LA,[9] the Urban Youth Worker's Institute Convention,[10] Falvor Fest,[11] Willow Creek Association Leadership Summit[12] and Exponential Conferences.[13]

Smith lives in the Bay area with his wife Donecia and two daughters.[4]
