Eichsfeld – Nordhausen – Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis I

Location of constituency in Thuringia

Eichsfeld – Nordhausen – Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis I is one of the 299 single member constituencies used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. One of nine districts covering the state of Thuringia, it covers the districts of Eichsfeld and Nordhausen, the town of Rodeberg, the former municipalities of Hildebrandshausen and Lengenfeld unterm Stein and the Unstrut-Hainich district municipalities of Mühlhausen, Anrode, Dünwald and Unstruttal.

The constituency was created for the 2005 election, expanding the Eichsfeld – Nordhausen constituency by adding parts of the abolished Eisenach – Wartburgkreis – Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis II constituency. The main predecessor constituency, which had been created for the 1990 election, had been won by the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), and they have held the new constituency since the 2005 election. The current representative is Manfred Grund,[1] who had represented Eichsfeld – Nordhausen since the 1994 election.
