The El Gallo Formation is a geological formation in Mexico whose strata date back to the Late Cretaceous. Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.[1]

Dinosaur eggs are known from the formation.[3] Alexornis antecedens actually comes from the La Bocana Roja Formation.
