El nervio del volcán

With bassist Sabo Romo and keyboardist Diego Herrera out of the band since 1993, Saúl Hernández (voice), Alfonso André (drums), and Alejandro Marcóvich (guitars) were the remaining band members left to record Caifanes' fourth studio album in Los Angeles, California between the months of February and April 1994. The album included the hit singles "Afuera" and "Aquí no es así".

This is the last album by Caifanes. A tour began shortly throughout Mexico, United States, Central America, Colombia, Chile and Argentina, ultimately ending with the band dissolving publicly after their final show on August 18, 1995 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. This situation forced singer Saúl Hernández to the forming of a new band known as Jaguares, due to legal issues out of a heated feud with lead guitarist Alejandro Marcóvich.

Guest artists included Graham Nash, Stuart Hamm, Federico Fong,Yann Zaragoza and Cecilia Toussaint.
