Emtek is another name for PT. Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk., the Indonesia's second largest media group, as of 2013.[1]

PT. Elang Mahkota Teknologi Indonesia is the parent company for subsidiaries which include terrestrial television subscription NexMedia and three entertainment stations – SCTV, Indosiar and O Channel. PT. Elang Mahkota Teknologi was established in 1983 by Eddy Kusnadi Sariaatmadja. PT. Elang Mahkota Teknologi Indonesia is now headed by ALVIN WIDARTA SARIAATMADJA, President Director of the Emtek Group.[2]

History

In 1997, PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Komputer evolved to PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Indonesia.[3] On 2 August 2004, the company established a local television station – O Channel, along with the MRA Media Group. In 2007, Emtek took full control of the station. In 2008, the group took control of Surya Citra Media (SCTV). In November 2011, Emtek launched a subscription TV channel, named NexMedia.
