The electro-hop movement emerged from the underground scene on the East Coast of the United States and gained popularity with artists such as the Black Eyed Peas, Mantronix, Man Parrish, Newcleus and Planet Patrol.
In the late 2000s and into the 2010s, electro-hop had gained worldwide commercial success. Such artists include The Black Eyed Peas (called the 'Kings of Electro-hop'), LMFAO, Flo Rida, Far East Movement and Nicki Minaj, among others.
