Eli Zaret

Eli Zaret is an American sports broadcaster and journalist based in Detroit, Michigan.[1]

Zaret is widely known for being involved in covering the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association, for whom he served as a sideline reporter[2] and about whom he kept a blog titled "Blue Collar Blueprint" about, based on a book he wrote in 2004 about the Pistons' rise to their third NBA championship. He also covered the Detroit Tigers for PASS Sports. His career began in 1974 at WABX-FM in Detroit, where he was regarded as the "first FM sportscaster" in Detroit.[2]

Zaret became the lead sports anchor for NBC affiliate WDIV-TV in the 1980s and briefly served a similar role at WABC-TV in New York, where he shared the weeknight sports reporting duties with Corey McPherrin. Eli also does rules of the game for major league baseball
