Elisabetta of Bourbon-Parma

Princess Elisabetta of Bourbon-Parma (17 March 1904 – 13 June 1983) was a Spanish dynast and a member of the House of Bourbon-Parma.

She was born in Vienna, the eldest daughter of Elias, Duke of Parma (1880-1959), and his wife, Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria. The couple had eight children during their marriage, including Elisabetta, who was the oldest child.

Princess Maria Christina died on June 13, 1983, in Bad Ischl, Austria, at the age of 79. She was unmarried and left no direct heirs. She was survived by her sisters, Princess Maria Francesas, Princess Alicia, Dowager Duchess of Calabria and Princess Maria Cristina.

Jacobite Pretender

While Franz, Duke of Bavaria is recognized by most Jacobites as the Stuart heir, arguments have been made for several other candidates. Maria Beatrice of Savoy married her uncle Francis IV, Duke of Modena. This marriage was concluded validly in Sardinia. However, it would have been disputed for Jacobite supporters since they married in Britain, and therefore the Jacobite succession is considered by minor of the Jacobite to have passed from Maria Beatrice to her younger sister Maria Teresa, who married the Duke of Parma. If Elisabetta's claim were to be recognized she would be known as Elizabeth II of England and Elizabeth I of Scotland from 25 November 1974 to 13 June 1983 . Her representative today is HRH The Infanta Alicia (b. 1917), dowager Duchess of Calabria and mother of the heir of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
