Elliot Knight is a British actor best known for his role as Sinbad in the UK TV series Sinbad. He recently portrayed Merlin on the fantasy television series Once Upon a Time.
Early life and education
Knight was born in Birmingham, United Kingdom to Stuart and Lorna Knight, who are both teachers.[1] His father works at Broadway Secondary School in Perry Barr, Birmingham.
He was a pupil at King Edward VI Aston School before studying at Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre,[2] graduating in 2011 from the BA (Hon) Acting course.[3][4]
Career
In June 2011, Sky1 announced that Knight had won the lead role in the television drama Sinbad which is his first professional role even before graduation from drama school.[3] The series premiered in July 2012.
In 2013, Knight joined the cast of BBC crime drama By Any Means.[5]
Elliot portrays Merlin in the fifth season of Once Upon a Time.
