Unreleased tracks, demos, and covers have circulated over the Internet. The posthumous collection From a Basement on a Hill II attracted the attention of the media when it was first leaked online.[34] Other leaks include the Grand Mal collection, which is updated yearly and, as of the latest edition, contains 131 tracks spread over eight discs, and the two-disc Basement Demos collection, which contains some of the same tracks as From a Basement on a Hill II along with a significant amount of additional unreleased material. Many of these leaks have taken place near the anniversary of Smith's death.[35]
