Early years
Ely Dagher was born in 1985, in Beirut, Lebanon. He received a Masters of Arts in contemporary art theory and new media from the prestigious Goldsmiths College, London University. Previously he had received a Bachelors in graphic arts and illustration as well as a Bachelors in animation at the Academie Libanaise Des Beaux Arts in Lebanon.[1]
Career
His film Waves '98 won the Short Film Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival,[2] becoming the first Lebanese film to ever receive the award[3]
Ely Dagher is and artist/film-maker working with different mediums and producing work that intertwines on different levels. His work focuses on the layering and constructing of multiple narratives across film, painting and installation.
