Embassy of India, Doha

The present Indian Ambassador to Qatar, is Mr. Sanjiv Arora. He arrived in Doha on 22 August, 2012 and presented his credentials on 25th September, 2012 to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the then Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent and the current Emir of Qatar.[1] The former Ambassador, Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, holds the distinction of being the first woman ambassador to any Gulf state. The Embassy is located at Villa No 11, Street No. 42, Wadi Al Neel, Old Hilal Area, Doha.

The Embassy of India, Doha was established in the State of Qatar in 1971. It promotes political, economic and commercial relations between the Republic of India and the State of Qatar. It also looks after welfare of the Indian community in Qatar providing Consular and other services including assistance in labour related issues. It provides visa services and other guidance to Qatari and other nationals intending to visit India. The Embassy has three nodal community organizations, the Indian Cultural Centre (for promotion of Indian art and culture), the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (for Community Welfare) and Indian Business Professionals Network (for promotion of business), directly working under it.
