The Embassy of Ireland in Paris (French: Ambassade d'Irlande à Paris) is the diplomatic mission of Ireland to France. It is located at 12 Avenue Foch in the 16th arrondissement. [1]
The embassy is also represented in France by Honorary Consuls in Cherbourg, Antibes/Cannes and Lyon. The embassy is accredited to Monaco, where it also has an honorary consul.
The current Ambassador to France is Geraldine Byrne Nason,[2] who was moved from her position as Second Secretary General of the Department of the Taoiseach.[3]
Building
The Irish Embassy in Paris was built in the 1890s and it was purchased by the Irish government in 1954 to house the new embassy. In 2006, the reception rooms of the chancery underwent extensive renovations.[4]
