Emerson Network Power is a business of Emerson Electric Company, an American multinational corporation – is a provider of critical infrastructure technologies and life cycle services for information and communications technology systems. Also a provider of hardware and software solutions for power, thermal and infrastructure management.[1] Emerson Network Power headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, USA, and has approximately 20,500 employees worldwide.[2]
About Emerson Network Power
Emerson formed its Network Power business platform in 2000 as an extension of the company’s rebranding efforts. The platform is composed of subsidiary businesses that provide solutions for technology infrastructure protection ranging from “grid-level” technologies to integrated system components.
It also develops infrastructure backup systems, power convertors, and uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) which provide data backup and maximizes availability, capacity and efficiency for data centers, healthcare and industrial facilities. Also carries out protection research, design, development, experiment and provides technical support. It serves industries including telecommunications, electric power, transportation, irrigation works, metallurgy, textile, petroleum, chemical industry and city construction in the China, European, and American markets.[3]

ASHRAE
ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers.[5] Fred Stack, vice president of marketing for Emerson Network Power’s Liebert Precision Cooling business, was named chairman of ASHRAE’s Technical Committee 9.9 (Mission Critical Facilities, Technology Spaces, & Electronic Equipment / Systems) in 2008.[6]
History
- 2000: Liebert and ASCO is now part of Network Power, after Emerson consolidated its network and computer protection businesses to form its new platform group.
- 2001: Emerson makes two key moves in the fast-growing Asian markets, purchasing Avansys, China’s leading network power provider, and forming Emerson Network Power India Private Ltd.
- 2006: Emerson acquires Germany-based Knürr AG and Florida-based Artesyn Technologies further strengthening the capabilities of Network Power
- 2007: Network Power strengthens with the acquisition of Motorola’s embedded communications computing business
- 2008: Emerson acquires Aperture, provider of data center management software, which becomes a brand under Emerson Network Power.
- 2009: Emerson strengthens Network Power business with two major acquisitions: Avocent Corporation, a company in delivering solutions that enhance companies’ integrated data center management capabilities and Chloride, which provides commercial and industrial uninterruptible power supply systems and services.
- 2010: Chloride acquired by Emerson, joining Network Power platform.
- 2012: Network Power announced the availability of the Trellis platform.
- 2015: Emerson announced the plan to spin off its Network −Power business.
- 2016: Emerson Network Power announced its new company name, Vertiv.
