Emilio Echevarría
Emilio Echevarría (born 1944) is a Mexican actor.
Career
He has appeared in Amores Perros (as the hitman and ex-guerrilla nicknamed "El Chivo" (The Goat)), Y tu mamá también, and Babel, all of which co-starred Gael García Bernal.
Echevarría also had small parts in two international productions, first as Raoul, a Cuban agent in the James Bond film Die Another Day and then as Antonio López de Santa Anna in The Alamo.
Most recently he has appeared in El Búfalo de la Noche along with Tambien co-star Diego Luna, written by Perros author Guillermo Arriaga.
Echevarria played the role of Sabio in the 2011 Mexican production of Gabriel Garcia Marquez "Memories of My Melancholy Whores". ["Memoria de Mis Putas Tristes"]. The film was directed by Henning Carlsen and also stars Geraldine Chaplin and Ángela Molina.
He began his acting career in 1978 as a member for the Constitution of Art and Society. Echevarría is the father of Lourdes Echevarría who appeared alongside him as Maru, his character's daughter, in Amores Perros.
