Emmanuel Nnorom
Emmanuel Nwabuikwu “Emma” Nnorom (born April 7, 1958) is a Nigerian business executive. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of the Nigerian conglomerate, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp Plc).[1] He was appointed to the position in 2014.[1][2][3] Previously, Nnorom worked in Peat Marwick Casseleton Elliot & Co (Now KPMG), Nigerian Breweries, Stanbic Bank Limited, Diamond Bank Limited, Equitorial Trust Bank, Liberty Merchant Bank Plc, NUB International Bank Limited, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa and Heirs Holdings.
Early Life and Education
Nnorom attended Comprehensive Secondary School, Aba between 1972 and 1976 in the present day Abia State in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria where he obtained his West African School Certificate Ordinary Level. He was trained as a chartered accountant by Peat Marwick Casseleton Elliot & CO (Now KPMG) and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982. Nnorom has attended advanced management courses at the University of Manchester and Templeton College, Oxford in 1995 and 1996.
Career
Previously, Nnorom worked in Peat Marwick Casseleton Elliot & Co (Now KPMG), Nigerian Breweries, Stanbic Bank Limited, Diamond Bank Limited, Equitorial Trust Bank, Liberty Merchant Bank Plc, NUB International Bank Limited, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa and Heirs Holdings. As President of Transcorp, he is responsible for the supervision of the group’s activities in the hospitality, oil & gas, power and agriculture sectors.
Transnational Corporation of Nigeria
Nnorom has been president and chief executive officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria since September 2014.[4][5]
Honours
Nnorom won the Westgarth’s prize in Auditing – foundation examination in May 1980. He won the top prizes in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria examinations in 1980 and 1982.
