Emprendimientos Ferroviarios S.A. (Emfer) is an Argentine rolling stock manufacturer based in San Martín, Buenos Aires.[1] The company also remodels and repairs rail vehicles and had previously manufactured rolling stock for the Sarmiento Line and Mitre Line in Buenos Aires. The Emfer rolling stock ran on the two commuter rail lines until 2014 when they were replaced with CSR Corporation Limited Electric Multiple Units.[2][3][4]

In 2014 the company became a subsidiary of CSR Corporation Limited,.[5] with the takeover intended so that the Chinese firm could build rolling stock in the country.[6] The company's main factory in San Martín once belonged to the state rolling stock manufacturer Fabricaciones Militares.[7]
