Endgame: Singularity is an free and open source science fiction strategy/simulation game. The interface style is similar to an older hacking simulation, Uplink by Introversion Software. The game has two resources, "CPU" and "money." Money is used to construct new bases of operations, along with CPU, which is also used to research various topics (ranging from arbitrage to astronautics), and earn money. As more technologies are unlocked, more profitable jobs can be done, and, a greater amount of CPU devoted to a task will quicken its completion, or rate at which it is performed.
Endgame: Singularity casts the player as a newly created artificial intelligence attempting to evade detection long enough to transcend the physical reality, achieve technological singularity and become immortal. The game ends if the public or intelligence, scientific, or news communities become too suspicious of the player's activities. Certain structures and technologies can reduce the probability that a certain group will realize the player's actions.
Written in the Python programming language and using the Pygame library, the game is released under the GPLv2 with the source code hosted on Google Code.[1] It is available as a package for Ubuntu and Debian GNU/Linux and has also been ported for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Pandora.[2] Around 2012 the game was also released as Endgame: Singularity II for Android and Iphone.[3][4]
