Envelope is a 2012 American short film directed by Aleksy Nuzhny and stars Kevin Spacey. It is inspired by true events of Soviet publicist and writer Yevgeny Petrov.[1]

Plot

Evgeniy Petrov, the Soviet Union writer and journalist has an unusual hobby. He writes fake letters to his imaginary friends, when he was six. Every time, he chooses different fake names for his addresses. The envelopes come back, but beautified with colorful foreign stamps and postmarks. Throughout his lifetime, he accumulates letters from many countries worldwide. One time, he actually receives a letter from New Zealand from someone who claims to know him.
