Dr. jur. Ernst Emmert[Notes 1] (26 February 1900 – 22 January 1945) was a highly decorated Oberstleutnant of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Ernst Emmert was severely wounded in October 1944 and died of his wounds on 22 January 1945 aboard a hospital train.
