Ethan Carter III and Tyrus were a professional wrestling tag team who worked in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

History

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2014–2016)

On the October 15, 2014 episode of Impact Wrestling, Carter introduced his new bodyguard Tyrus. Together they entered the TNA World Tag Team Championship number one contenders tournament defeating Eric Young and Rockstar Spud in the quarterfinals only to lose to the The Hardys on the October 29 episode of Impact Wrestling in the semifinals, when Tyrus was pinned by Matt Hardy.[1] Carter defeated Kurt Angle on June 25, 2015 to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career the match aired on the July 1, 2015 episode of Impact Wrestling.[2] On June 28, 2015, at Slammiversary XIII, Carter and Tyrus defeated Mr. Anderson and Lashley in the co-main event.[3]

On October 4, 2015, at Bound For Glory, Tyrus won a gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.[4] Also in the main event, Carter lost the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a three-way match to Matt Hardy which also included Drew Galloway. On the January 5, 2016 episode of Impact Wrestling, Carter won the TNA World Title Series after defeating Hardy in the finals, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. On the January 19, 2016 episode of Impact Wrestling, Hardy and Carter had a match for the title. However, Tyrus turned on Carter and joined Hardy, costing Carter the title.
