Eugenia Kuzmina is a Russian actress, comedian and model. She began her career with the August 2004 cover of Glamour and appeared in Yves Saint Laurent last couture show, advertisements for Hermes, Armani jeans, Dior sunglasses, GAP, and L'Oreal.[2] She was featured in a music video Ange etrange for David Hallyday.[3] In 2011 Kuzmina transitioned into acting.
Biography
Early life
Kuzmina was born in Moscow, Soviet Union. Her father was a nuclear scientist who died when she was 15. Her mother is a housewife. She was training to be a professional ice skater, when at the age of 14 was discovered by the Russian designer Slava Zaitsev. She starred in national commercials for Rc Cola, M&Ms, October chocolate and Russian Tv shows like Pole Chudes and Yeralash before being approached by a talent scout from Paris.
Career
Kuzmina's modeling career took off when she started working with Ford Models Europe[4] and then with IMG.
She was the cover girl for the August 2004 edition of Glamour and has been featured in advertisements for Armani Jeans, Dior sunglasses, GAP, Arden B, Express, Kenzi, Replay Jeans, Sephora, and L'Oreal.[2] She has been also featured in magazines, such as Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Japanese and Russian Vogue, GQ, Self, Shape, As well as catalogs for Hermès and Cartier.
She was featured in a music video for David Hallyday,[3] then Passion Pit , and Demi Lovato and transitioned into film work with a short film, Likeness directed by Rodrigo Prieto, starring Elle Fanning. Her first uncredited appearance in a TV show was in 2011 playing the role of Denise Salter in "Moonlighting"[5] the 9th episode of the 2nd season of the CBS police procedural drama Blue Bloods. Her first TV appearance was in the hit show True Blood. She portrayed a fairy. Right after she was cast in a FOX show New Girl, ABC show Castle opposite Stana Katic, had a starring role in the independent horror film Quarantine L.A., and played opposite John Turturro in a feature film Fading Gigolo. Kuzmina is passionate about comedy and can frequently be seen doing stand up at The Comedy Store, Flappers and performing improv at UCB.
In her free time she studies Krav Maga, rides motorcycles and works on her own stunts. Kuzmina starred in an action film Game Changer opposite Mark Pellegrino, which was premiered at Playhouse West Film Festival in September 2013 . In 2015 she will portray Gulla opposite Danny McBride , Scott Caan and Bill Murray in Barry Levinson , Mitch Glazer film Rock The Kasbah , then appear in a scene with Christopher Walken in a Jason Bateman film The Family Fang and another feature Dirty Grandpa, directed by Dan Mazer, where she portrays a judgemental hippie Cathy, opposite Zac Efron.
Kuzmina loves spending free time singing karaoke with her friends and traveling the world representing brands that support ecology and environmental issues .
