Eva Volitzer is a Bulgarian actress, singer, teacher, and director. She has performed more than 50 roles in Bulgarian theatres such as the Russe Drama Theatre, Sofia Itinerant Theatre, and the Salza i Smyah Theatre as well as internationally in Tel Aviv, Vienna, and Riga.

She has appeared in feature films, mostly in Bulgaria.[1]

Biography

Volitzer graduated from The National Academy of Theatrical and Film Art Krustyo Sarafov with a MA degree in acting. She was a Fulbright scholar in New York City in 2002-2003 where she taught acting at Pace University.[2]

She is an associate professor of acting at the New Bulgarian University, Sofia, and has produced numerous performances with youth dramatic studios and university students, and some of the productions have been presented in Switzerland, France, and Austria.

Volitzer is the founder and director of the Independent Gallery Theater in Bulgaria. She is an artistic director of the Keshet Jewish Theater in Sofia.[3]

Recording career

In 1996 she published an album with 22 ancient Jewish songs in Ladino, which has been selling internationally.[4]
