Evan Michael O'Dorney (born September 1993) was the winner of the 2007 Scripps National Spelling Bee,[1] winner of the 2011 Intel Science Talent Search,[2][3] four-time International Math Olympiad medalist, and three-time Putnam fellow.[4] O'Dorney attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2011. He started attending Harvard College in 2011 where he studies mathematics.[5] An interview O'Dorney did on CNN with Kiran Chetry after he won the Scripps Spelling Bee became a viral video.[6] During the interview, he corrected Chetry's pronunciation of his name. When Chetry attempted to ask O'Dorney to spell the word Scombridae after he said his favorite food was tuna sandwich, O'Dorney spelled the word incorrectly before arguing with Chetry, claiming she misled him.
