School Bus Blasts

On 26 November 2009, the same day which completed one year of the 2008 Mumbai Bombings, a DTC bus caught fire and the driver suffered 20% burns on his body including his face. Almost 45 students of class nursery to VIII escaped with no injuries. Principal Piyanka Gulati said "The conductor noticed sparks coming out of the engine. He informed the driver and both came out to see what was wrong. Suddenly, there was a loud noise and the bus caught fire. Two of our teachers who were inside the bus along with senior students helped the bus driver and conductor in evacuating all the children. Our staff at the entrance gate saw the fire and went to help too. After all the children were rescued, we took them to the Dharamsila Hospital where they were discharged soon".[4]
