Locations
Rosie's World
Rosie's Playhouse is situated at the heart of the garden. It is overlooked by Oakley’s hill and is surrounded by the picnic area, the showground, the playground, the orchard, Saffie’s dip, the maze and a winding stream and woods.
The Playhouse
The Playhouse is no ordinary house! A cylindrical building with a dome on the top and steps that curl around the building to the very top. When ROSIE and RAGGLES want to come out to play, the steps turn into a slide allowing them to glide safely to the ground below.
Oakley's Hill
Behind the Playhouse sits Oakley’s Hill, craggy on one side but inviting on the other. On top of the hill sits OAKLEY the wise old Oak Tree.
Big Bear's Den
Behind the Orchard is Big Bears Den. An oversized house with ivy climbing up the interior walls. Inside is a huge bed fit for a Bear, a plunge pool bath, large cooker and oversized furniture.
Beside Big Bear’s Den is his potting shed as well as a vegetable patch where he grows his fruit and vegetables.
The Playground
The Playground has a spring button horse, a rainbow arching seesaw and a sunken trampoline. Beside the playground is a large circular sandpit and a water fountain.
The Picnic Area
In the picnic area, the table and seats are sculpted from trees, plants and leaves and provide the perfect place to congregate on a hot summers day.
The Maze
A colourful green and purple mosaic-tiled path leads into the maze where there are dead ends and trick turnings.
The Flagpole
In the centre of the maze stands a tall flagpole topped with a multi-coloured ‘Wind Spinner’. The colourful spinner rotates on windy days and reflects the current weather conditions.
The flagpole is surrounded by Individual buttons, each depicting a pattern belonging to one of the characters. When each character reaches the centre of the maze, the first to jump on their button will have their flag raised to the top of the pole.
The Orchard
The Orchard is full of trees bearing apples, pears and plums. There are also an abundance of Bozberry bushes and the characters like nothing more than to make a batch of Bozberry Muffins with the fruit. NB; The Bozberry (or Bozberries) were created specifically for Everything's Rosie and are rather like a Blueberry.
The Podswings
Beside the fruit orchard is the Podswing, a bamboo structure that holds three pod-like seats to swing and spin around in.
The Stream
The narrow stream meanders its way through Rosie’s world. Stones, pebbles, bulrushes and small fish can be found in and around its shores.
The Showground
The Showground is located down slope of Oakley’s Hill. It is made up of interlinked rings and can change shape and structure. By stepping on a button on the ground the Showground can transform from a skating rink into a football pitch, tennis court, stage or swimming pool.
Will and Holly's Studio
Will and Holly's Studio is built into the hillside in the dip that Saffie sits in.
Positioned on either side of the main entrance is Will’s workshop where he experiments with his Go Speeder and invents weird and wonderful things and Holly’s Studio where Holly stores all her artistic equipment.
The Beaver Dam and Pool
The Beaver Dam & Pool is set in the woodland beyond Will and Holly’s House. There is a small waterfall which flows downstream through Rosie’s world. The pool is a favourite place for Big Bear to go fishing.
Special locations
- The Crossroads
In a more hilly and wooded area of the garden there is a crossroads surrounded by beautiful trees.
- The Waterfall
A breathtaking waterfall cascades down a rock face throwing off a brilliant spectrum of colours as the sun's rays pass through it. The beautiful waterfall hides a secret path through to the other side!
- The Crystal Cave Entrance
Through the trees is the entrance to a shimmering cave, its entrance shaped like an arched doorway with hexagonal steps leading up over a cool pool of water.
- The Crystal Cave Interior
The inside of the beautiful Crystal Cave - The walls sparkle and twinkle with natural crystal which give amusing distorted reflections like a hall of mirrors. The daylight beams in from the two cave entrances filling the cave with a glistening light.
- The Hill
Outside the exit to the Crystal Cave is the top of a hill, dotted with trees. Making its way down the hill is a dried up stream bed, a shallow channel lined with grass and moss.
- The Yellow Field
At the bottom of the hill is a vast yellow field, bridging the gap between the hill and the forest beyond where the Grand Old Oak lives.
- The Forest
A deep forest with a thick canopy shutting out much of the daylight. The forest is dark but pretty flowers still bloom on the forest floor adding bursts of colour to the greens and browns of the trees.
