Ewing Christian College (ECC), formerly Allahabad Christian College is an autonomous college located in Allahabad, India.
Established in 1902 by Dr. Arthur Henry Ewing, a prominent Presbyterian missionary as an initiative of the East India Company. It became one of the premier college for excellence in higher education and research in India.[1][2]
ECC is a constituent college of Allahabad University. The college was conferred with the status of College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission in 2005 and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).[3]
Campus
The campus is located on the northern bank of Yamuna river near Sangam on the southern part of Allahabad City. Spread on a sprawling green campus of 42 acres (170,000 m2), the college opened its agricultural economics extension department on the other side of the river, which soon developed into Allahabad Agricultural Institute.
Academics
The academic structure is composed of three (3) faculties, viz. Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Teacher education, which are subdivided into various departments and eight (8) self-financed centres/departments.
