History

Football in Târgovişte, started with FCM Târgovişte, which was dissolved in the summer of 2015. In 2010 a new team was founded by Romanian football legend Gheorghe Popescu and named FC Chinidia, which was a football academy like Gheorghe Hagi Viitorul Constanța. In 2013 Popescu left the club. The biggest accomplishment the team has ever made was promoting twice in Liga II, by winning Liga III. The best position in Liga II, was a 7th place in 2011–12 Liga II.
