FIPP

FIPP Originally the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Périodique (International Federation of Periodical Publishers) FIPP is a global trade association, whose purpose is to improve all aspects of the media content industry through the sharing of knowledge, mutual co-operation, and strategic partnerships.

Although its headquarters are in London, FIPP hosts a World Magazine Congress every two years emphasising its global nature by choosing locations in various countries around the world. The last two congresses have been held in New Delhi, Asia (2011)[1] and Rome, Europe (2013) - and the next is due to take place in 2015 in Toronto, North America.[2]

With membership now standing at 700 enterprises which includes nearly 60 national magazine associations, FIPP is constantly expanding its global reach hence its ability to assist members throughout the world by nurturing strategic partnerships with digital content magazines and organisations.[3] This allows FIPP to assist members to develop better strategies and businesses and to remain at the forefront of information technology advances of particular interest to the magazine media industry.[4]

Annually FIPP produces the FIPP World Magazine Trends report, which is distributed worldwide throughout the industry and is a respected source of reference.[5][6][7]

In recent years FIPP has been promoting and encouraging the growth of so-called ‘cross-border’ magazines, where an existing magazine based in a home country expands into other, external territories.[8]
