F/V Maverick is a crabbing vessel that operates in the Bering Sea. It was featured in seasons one, two, and three in the Discovery Channel documentary show Deadliest Catch.
History
The F/V Maverick was built in Coos Bay, Oregon by Giddings Boat Works in 1982. She was bought by Rick and Donna Quashnick in 1991 and moved to Seattle, Washington. Its home port is Astoria, Oregon. After some time, control of the boat was given to Blake Painter. A couple years later, Painter gave the boat back after acquiring his own ship, the F/V Tradition.[1]
Contrary to popular belief, the F/V Maverick that was sunk in a collision with the F/V Viking Storm is not the F/V Maverick featured in the Discovery Channel documentary, Deadliest Catch.
