Fabio Cavalli

Fabio Cavalli (born October 23, 1955) is a Swiss entrepreneur. Cavalli was born in Intragna, Switzerland.

Career

Fabio Cavalli founded Mondobiotech[1] in 2001. He registered 321 licences for the application of human peptides as medicaments for rare diseases.[2] Fabio Cavalli brought the company to the Swiss Stock Exchange.[3][4]

In 2011 he founded Genes SA, a Swiss group operating in direct-to-consumer genetics.[5][6]

Awards

In 2005, Fabio Cavalli won the Swiss Life Sciences Prize,[7] in 2006 the Ernst & Young Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year[8] and in 2007 the A.T. Kearney Best Innovator Prize[9] for its innovative product technology. In 2008 the World Economic Forum awarded him as Technology Pioneer[10] for the creation of new technologies start up with significant impact on business and society. In 2008 he received the Swiss Innovation Award[11] for the research in rare diseases, in 2010 the Patent Champion[12] in the category of pharmaceutical industry and in 2011 the commitment from the Clinton Global Initiative[13] to take action to Genes[14] for the creation of a preventive model of healthcare that brings genetic testing and medicine to public.
