Fatehnagar is a city and a municipality in Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan, India.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Fatehnagar had a population of 19,624. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Fatehnagar has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 48%. In Fatehnagar, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. The town falls under Mavli Tehsil. It has a railway station on Udaipur- chittorgarh Section of NW Railway. The town is also well connected by road. The fatehnagar was established by Maharana Fateh Singh of Mewar to provide a railway station to nearby town named Sanwar. The town has a MANDI and mainly deals in groundnuts, soya. It is 52 km from Udaipur and 65 km from Chittorgarh . Many former princely thikanas are located around Fatehnagar namely Sanwar, Kankrawa, Tana and Akola.
