Faustus Cornelius Sulla Lucullus III
Faustus Cornelius Sulla Lucullus III was a Roman nobleman, the son of Lucius Cornelius Sulla Faustus. He was a great-grandnephew of the Roman dictator Lucius Cornelius Sulla. His mother was Aemilia Lepida. Faustus and his brother Lucius Cornelius Sulla Magnus were senators who lived in Emperor Tiberius' reign. Faustus was suffect consul in 31.
In 21, Faustus married Domitia Lepida the Younger. She was a child of Antonia Major by consul Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus (consul 16 BC), a great niece of Emperor Augustus and a granddaughter to Octavia Minor and Triumvir Mark Antony. Lepida had two children from her previous marriage to Marcus Valerius Messalla Barbatus: Marcus Valerius Messalla Corvinus, and the Empress Valeria Messalina, third wife of the Emperor Claudius.
Domitia Lepida bore Faustus a son called Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix (22-62), who later married Claudia Antonia, a daughter of Roman Emperor Claudius. His stepdaughter would be the future Roman Empress Valeria Messalina. Faustus died of uncertain causes around 40.
