The Federal URDU University of Arts, Science & Technology (Urdu: وفاقی جامعہ اردو; alternatively known as FUU), is a public research university primarily located in the residential Gulshan town of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] The university has two satellite campuses; the central campus in Karachi while the other campus is located in Islamabad.[2]

The university offers wide range of academic programmes in undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral studies. The university is noted for its engaging research in fine arts, languages, engineering, social sciences, and philosophy.[3] With an tentative approximated of ~13,500 enrolled students currently attending the university, it is one of the largest institution in the country and is one of the top university in "general category" ranked by the HEC.[4]

The Federal Urdu University holds a unique distinction of being as one of the few institutions of higher learning in languages and maintains a distinguish reputation for conducting scientific research towards the advancement of languages, engineering, philosophy, natural, medical, and social sciences.[5] In addition, the university is also known for its financial affordability while engaged in offering an international standard scientific research and development in various academic mulch-disciplines.[5]

History

Urdu College was first established by Baba-e-Urdu Maulvi Abdul Haq in 1949. Then this college was given the status of a University in 2002. The Federal Urdu University was established on 13 November 2002 by presidential order, and is the first university in Pakistan to teach primarily in the Urdu language. It was established by merging the Federal Urdu Arts College and the Federal Urdu Science College, both in Karachi. President Pervez Musharraf was the university's first chancellor. Currently President Mamnoon Hussain and Professor zafar Iqbal are the chancellor and vice-chancellor of the university respectively.

University lecturer and teacher of a notorious reputation Gul Hassan was not the pure PhD and Dr. Mobin Hasni, Master and Doctor Amin Farooq was involved in the murder, his friends DR Zafar Iqbal retired professor and acting together University of ten million embezzlement of public funds and military forces settled in Karachi area.

After this incident, the old governor tried to hide the facts. Urdu College always believed that the best teaches, but especially Hassan Waqar Gul, Zafar Iqbal, clerks damaged together with its highly.
