Felis margarita harrisoni, known as the Arabian sand cat[1][2] is a subspecies of the sand cat native to the deserts of the Arabian peninsula and Jordan.[3][4] Between July 2000 and September 2001, it was also recorded in the central Syrian desert, close to the ruins of Palmyra.[5]
