Fersen Lambranho

Fersen Lamas Lambranho (born October 11, 1961, in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian engineer and entrepreneur. He is partner and chairman of the board of GP Investments, an alternative investment firm in Latin America with an important presence in asset management, mainly private equity funds.[1][2]

Career

Lambranho holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a MSc degree in business administration from Instituto de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração (COPPEAD-UFRJ). At the Harvard Business School, he completed the Owner President Management Program.[3]

He started at GP Investments in 1998 and became a managing director in 1999. Four years later, Lambranho and his current partner Antonio Bonchristiano assumed the leadership of the firm. In 2004, they finished the acquisition of 100% control of GP Investments. Under its new leadership, the firm was able to raise more private equity funds and expands its activities to investments in real estate and infrastructure.

The GP Investments partners operate as co-leaders. Lambranho focuses on finding deals, while Antonio Bonchristiano takes the lead on relationships with foreign partners and fundraising.[4]

Currently, Lambranho is chairman of the board of GP Investments, Centauro and Magnesita S.A.[5]

Lambranho often acts as mentor to new entrepreneurs from Endeavor (non-profit), an organization that supports high-impact entrepreneurship in over 20 countries. Last November, at the Endeavor’s Brasil CEO Summit, he was invited to talk about the relationship between investor and investee.[6]

Arts

Lambranho is a board member of several non-profit entities, such as Fundação Bienal de São Paulo[7] and COPPEAD-UFRJ.[8] Together with his wife, Paloma Lambranho, he is co-founder of the group Patronos da Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo[9] and is part of the committee of Prêmio IP Capital Partners de Arte (PIPA) 2014.[10]
