Finkin Street Methodist Church in Grantham is a Grade II[1][2] listed building. The Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1840 and was the childhood church of Margaret Thatcher.[3][4]
The chapel has a lectern dedicated to Thatcher's father Alfred Roberts who was a lay preacher there.[4]
In 2010 it was decided, following a vote involving around 50 members of the congregation, that the church should be sold.[5] The chapel is now known as Christchurch and is used by a union of Methodist and United Reformed Church congregations.[6]
