First-order fluid

A first-order fluid is another name for a power-law fluid with exponential dependence of viscosity on temperature.

\mu_{\operatorname{eff}}(\dot \gamma, T) = \mu_0 {\dot \gamma}^{n-1} \exp (-bT)

where \dot \gamma is the shear rate, T is temperature and \mu_0, n and b are coefficients.

The model can be re-written as

\mu_{\operatorname{eff}}(\dot \gamma, T) = \exp \left( A_0 + A_1 \ln(\dot \gamma) + A_2 T \right)
