The founders of FirstMark Capital are Amish Jani, Richard Heitzmann, Lawrence Lenihan, and Gerald Poch. The founders spun out of Pequot Capital Management in 2008 to establish an independent investment firm.[1][2]
Among the firm's most notable current investments are Pinterest,[3] SecondMarket,[4] Knewton, Lot18,[5] Riot Games,[6] Dashlane,[7] Lumosity,[8] Shopify,[9] BioDigital,[10] and Sketchfab.[11]
FirstMark was also an investor in Aveksa,[12] Boomi (acquired by DELL,[13] Riot Games (acquired by Tencent Holdings),[14] Netgear (NASDAQ: NTGR), First Advantage (NASDAQ: FADV), StubHub (acquired by eBay),[15] Netegrity (acquired by Computer Associates),[16] Flarion (acquired by Qualcomm), OutlookSoft (acquired by SAP AG),[17] Vallent (acquired by IBM) and Navic (acquired by Microsoft).
FirstMark focuses on Series-A investments, with capital reserved for follow investments.
