The current Flag of Batangas was adopted on 2009.[1]
The current flag is of 1:2 proportion and a horizontal triband with its colors, from top to bottom, being blue, white and red. In a 3 x 6 in. flag. the blue and red bands measures 7 inches and the seal, which measures 20.5 in. in diameter, is placed at the center of the white band.[1]
The flag is also called the "Vilma Santos Administration Provincial Flag" due to being adopted during Governor Vilma Santos' term. The previous flag was replaced due to its resemblance to the flag of the U.S. state of California. Other proposals involved incorporating the image of Katipunan figure, Apolinario Mabini and a flag with the seal in a purple field, which is similar to the design of an older flag used by the province except that the proposal incorporates the more recent design of the province seal.[1]
The former flag is similar to the flag of California. A blue stripe is placed at the bottom of the flag instead of a red one. The words BATANGAS PROVINCE is inscribed in the flag. Above the inscription is an orange bull closer to the hoist besides it away from the hoist the previous provincial seal.[1]
