Flavio Cattaneo Terna S.p.a.

Flavio Cattaneo (born Rho, Italy June 27, 1963) is an Italian business executive.

Flavio Cattaneo has been Director of many energy companies (from 1999 to 2001), including AEM SpA of Milan (as Deputy Chairman), Serenissima Gas SpA, Triveneta Gas SpA, Seneca Srl and Malpensa Energia Srl. He was appointed head of Italy’s public television network RAI SpA in April 2003, in the position of General Manager, which he held until August 2005. He also oversaw the merger with Rai Holding and the unbundling of accounts. From May 2006 to November 2009 he was Chairman of Terna Participações SA, a subsidiary of Terna SpA.[1][2] From 2005 to 2014 he was CEO of Terna SpA”.

Flavio Cattaneo was also President Fiera Milano International S.p.A., 1999 to 2000 [3]

Current position

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Terna S.p.A. from 2005 to present.[4]
Terna's board of directors confirmed Flavio Cattaneo as chief executive of the power grid operator during their last meeting.[5]

Renewable Energy

Flavio Cattaneo presided over the sale of solar plant assets to Terra Firma Investments for 620-670 million euros ($862–$931 million).

This amount will be reinvested in renewable energy projects.[6]
